Community Guidelines & Platform Scope
Last updated: January 2025 (placeholder — requires professional review before production)
1. What this platform is for
Workplace Voice is a dedicated community platform where individuals can safely share their personal workplace experiences. This is a supportive space designed for mutual assistance, transparency, and collaboration. The platform is not a legal service, trade union, regulator, or enforcement authority. Nothing published here constitutes legal, employment, financial, or other specialist advice. Responsibility for content remains with the individual who submitted it.
Navigating Toxic Work Environments
Members can share their experiences, seek advice, and find support when dealing with difficult or toxic workplace situations.
Community Help & Mutual Support
Community members are encouraged to guide, assist, and lift each other up in constructive and positive ways.
Job Opportunities & Vacancies
Members can post open job vacancies or share employment opportunities for those looking to transition into new roles.
2. What you may post
- Factual accounts of genuine workplace experiences based on your honest belief
- Questions about workplace situations
- General information or personal experience that may help others
- Updates on how a situation resolved
- Emotional support and encouragement (clearly labelled)
- Open job vacancies or employment opportunities
3. What you must not post
- Phone numbers, home addresses, private email addresses, or bank details
- National Insurance numbers, medical records, or signatures
- Personal names of individual managers or colleagues (use their role instead)
- Threats, harassment, or abusive language
- Deliberately false or misleading statements
- Confidential business information, customer data, or privileged documents
- Content that constitutes discrimination or hate speech
- Impersonation of individuals or organisations
- Spam, advertising, or off-topic commercial content
- Claims presented as legal advice
4. Accuracy and responsibility
You are responsible for the accuracy of content you post. Before publishing, you confirm that the experience is genuine, based on your honest belief, and that you have removed unnecessary personal or confidential information. Workplace Voice does not independently verify any claim.
5. Employer and individual naming
You may choose to name an employer or organisation. If you do, you take additional responsibility for accuracy and fairness. Never post the personal name of an individual manager or colleague — use their role or title instead. Named employers may submit a structured response through our employer response process.
6. Moderation and enforcement
Content may be reviewed by moderators. Actions can include adding a dispute label, requesting edits, temporarily hiding content, or removing content. You will be notified if action is taken on your content. You may appeal moderation decisions through our appeals process.
7. Reporting content
If you see content that violates these guidelines, use the Report button. For formal complaints about specific content, use our Content Complaint Procedure.
This is a placeholder document. It must be reviewed and finalised by a qualified solicitor before production launch.
